Having resolved my DB2 client issue I now have anÂ issue with the Import Wizard of BusinesObjects XIr2. When importing a BIAR file to BOE the Import Wizard crashes right at then end when I clicked on Finish.
To fix this was simple enough. The Import Wizard creates a log file when it performs an import or export and this log file is created in the folder,
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Logging
The BusinessObjects client tools was installed by someone else who had Admin rights to the desktop but my logon to the desktop only provided basic user rights and as such I didn’t have permission to write to the above logging folder. To fix the issue it was just a case of providing my logon with read/write permission to this folder.
It’s a shame that the Import Wizard didn’t give an appropriate error message and just bombed out. Or even allow log files to be written to an alternative directory. Maybe something to be fixed for next time ?
